The Rain that Falls

And the rain falls all around,

making puddles on the ground.

And saw, did I,

A darkened sky

From whence the drops

descended here.

The rain's parade

has made its way

today

Along the sides of streets,

Through Gutters.

And shudders

It sent down my spine,

To see such a march,

Accounting the time

As it falls late

upon the year.

So thought, did I,

the storm was nigh,

And banks of clouds

upon the shore.

Stormy day of wind and rain

makes even the leaves

upon the trees

To shiver outside

From this cold ocean blowing.
