Still Waters

The light of still waters in the slow sunrise,

The cotton tufts of cloud in the pastel skies,

Distant, a shimmer, an ocean's horizon,

Sweeping, a breeze, and my grateful orison,

I ponder. A lull and a depth beyond deep,

Profound in its stillness and low in its sleep,

It lingers and lurks beneath what one can sense,

Intangible, grand and as ever intense.

I'm part of this universe, however fleet,

But inveterate, alone and incomplete,

My blessing, this portion among such expanse,

So lucky for having been given a chance.
